This week marks Mental Health Awareness Week, providing an opportunity to discuss the mental well-being of church leaders. Reverend Richard Black from Thriving Churches highlights that pastors often face mental health challenges at a higher rate than the general public due to the pressures of their role and the expectation to appear perfect.

Richard emphasises the importance of pastors centring their identity in Christ rather than their role, allowing them to be authentic and vulnerable with their congregations. He advocates for treating pastors as individuals with needs, ensuring they receive the support necessary for their mental and emotional health.
